The way to take picture is different. Annie is closer to objects and becomes part of them, and takes pictures freely. People do not realize that she is taking pictures then, so she is able to take pictures which shows the objects in their true color. In addition, she contacts with people openly and naturally and it makes her objects to be relaxed and herself to be able to take pictures of them unlike other photographers. On the other hand, James Natchtwey approaches objects slowly and he makes some eye contact with them instead of being talkative. His pictures are black and white, and its colorless emphasizes the dark part of this world. He shows the rest of the world the fact in the battle field and the world wide horror.
Moreover, what they tell me is also different. Annie is so powerful that she has done what she wants to do. She was interested in various artistic thing and began to write and play music, and then studied painting. She developed her photography skill while working for several years. She seems not to hesitate to do whatever she wants to and I am moved by her powerful active behavior. It seems to me that she tells the audiences that we should do what you want to do whenever and it never be too late, do not give up. On the contrary, James Natchtwey make me aware of the real world where I live. Since I have not experienced the war, I tend to forget that many people are suffering from it even in this moment. He seems to be a messenger who bring to the rest of world the real voice of people who live in sorrow caused by wars. I feel like I was pointed out that I neglect the real and dark aspect of the world.

a western girl and a japanese girl
I had talked to an exchange student who is from Ohio in the U.S for this post. Her name is Brittany. It was first time to meet and talk with her, but I could find her friendly and kindness soon. Although I asked her for help suddenly, she granted my request agreeably.
I would like to express her kindness and cheerful character in this picture. Sunlight pours into her face softly. I think this sunlight matches the warm atmosphere of her. Unlike the glaring artificial light, this soft sunlight emphasize her warm personality. I like this picture so much. Her smile is really charming.
Let me introduce her a little. She is majoring Japanese in the university in America, and now she is learning about Japanese and its culture at KGU. I asked many questions to know her well and the most interesting story what she told me is about impression of Japan. I found that she is interested in Japanese pop culture. She told me that she likes shopping and went to Osaka city four days in a week! I was so surprised because I also live in Hirakata city; I usually go to Osaka city once in two or three weeks. She likes prikura and karaoke so much. I like them too. In addition she also told me about fashion of Japanese girls especially at KGU. How we Japanese girls dress up surprises her. I know Japanese girls tend to dress up for even just going to school; we wear shoes with high heels, a short skirt or pants and heavy makeup. Here is the evidence.
This picture shows the contrast between American and Japanese. I heard that the western girls tend to wear casual clothes at school and dress up on the weekend. At this time, we represent the national characters by fashion. It is really interesting. However, even though her fashion is the western style, she is doing a peace sign in this picture! I am sure that she is becoming a Japanese girl gradually and will dress up like me at school somedays....lol
Anyway, she seems to enjoy Japan very much. She is surely a Nippon lover!
